The Power of Urine: Beyond the Simple Strip

This seminar will focus on how to utilise urine testing to gain deeper insights into patients' health.
We will discuss when to test for proteinuria and what to do in cases where bacteria are present in the urine. Additionally, the seminar will explore how urine information can enhance our understanding and management of kidney patients. Participants will also learn tips for obtaining the best quality urine samples.
Speakers Biography
Dr. Joshua Steinhaus
MS, BVMS, DACVIM, DECVIM-CA
Dr. Joshua Steinhaus is an American and European board-certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist. Following his internship and residency training, he did an intensive 1-year fellowship training program in Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy at the Animal Medical Center in New York. He is the only veterinarian in Asia to complete a fellowship in Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy. During his time at the Animal Medical Center, he was trained by two of the founding veterinarians, Drs. Allyson Berent and Chick Weisse, in Interventional Techniques. In addition to this training, he has also pursued further training in urology through the University of California-Davis and its Hemodialysis Academy. He is also the current IRIS Ambassador to Hong Kong.
