Positions Vacant: Veterinary Assistants


It is with great pleasure that we announce an availability for an enthusiastic, patient and client orientated Veterinary Assistants. Our clinic has been around a long, long time and with that time we have gotten older and wiser, we understand that general practice should be the home of the veterinary heart. A place where you are able to care deeply and exercise your passion for your patients, which is why we are creating an environment where you can be an individual in a family group, where you will be encouraged to grow and challenge yourself but have the support of a group if you need it.

With the guidance of Dr Owen Swan, President of the HKVA and lead surgeon, and Dr Ryan Moralee, Co-director and medicine enthusiast, Victory will be a home away from home, working hard but respecting time so we don't lose our personal lives to the professional one. We strive to be open-minded and solution focussed. We are experienced in multiple fields and enjoying sharing our knowledge and mentoring passionate individuals.

Job Requirements:

  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese (Mandarin is also desirable but a healthy sense of humour will suffice).
  • Good work ethic, detail focussed, in other words you can pick up the vet's mistakes... which I am sure all nurses are happy to do:)
  • If you are taking your first dive into the veterinary field or have been around for a few years won't matter to us, more important will be care and compassion for pets, clients and your colleagues, being mindful will be rewarded with lunches and snacks!
  • Basic computer skills are a must, exposure to the EzyVet software system will be beneficial.
  • Good Communication skills are essential, some of the vets at Victory have colourful accents and speak quickly, so this bar we will set low understanding that it takes a while to acclimate to a "Souf Afrikan" accent.

What the role will entail:

  • Medical and surgical duties, including general anaesthesia and translation of in depth cardiac, internal medicine and surgical cases.
  • Surgical background or interest will be of benefit.
  • Intensive care of patients, including monitoring and administering of medicine.
  • Care  of in hospital patients, including monitoring and administering of medication.
  • High quality customer services.
  • Assist with the mobile veterinary services.
  • TLC nursing duties of all creatures, great and small, grumpy and all.

Salary will be commensurate with exp e rience and performance (including jokes). The salary is very competitive and there will be additional opportunities to advance further if you would like to grow your knowledge base.
