Specialist in Small Animal Surgery


Royal Veterinary Center (RVC) is one of the largest Veterinary hospitals in Macau, providing a complete range of clinical services to clients and patients. RVC has an excellent reputation for providing the highest level of quality health care service to veterinary patients.

RVC sees a broad range of orthopaedic, soft tissue and neurosurgical cases. The surgery department is well resourced with fluoroscopy, arthroscopy and laparoscopy to allow many minimally invasive image-guided orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. We are also equipped with ligasure, 3 different locking plate systems, interlocking nails, Universal, Micro and Nano Biomedtrix Total Hip Replacement instrumentation, linear and circular IMEX ESF, and equipment for, TTA, TPLO and CBLO among others. Imaging is of the highest standard with digital radiography and currently in the process of acquiring a CT scanner, and a high field MRI that will be supported by a full-time radiographer. The anaesthesia team is highly trained.

The Position:
The successful applicant will be working with a team of GP’s and specialists in various departments across the hospital including Internal Medicine, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology as well as a team of dedicated emergency clinicians and friendly supportive staff. The applicant must be comfortable in an environment where all are encouraged to collaborate on patient care, and where referring veterinarians and pet owners receive personal and attentive service.

The ideal candidate:

  • Degree in Veterinary Science registrable in Hong Kong and Macau

Intern required to work mainly with internalist (MACVSc '98) and / or Oncologist (MACVSc '00) at Pets Central Mong Kok. Reporting to the Senior Veterinarian, the incumbent will provide veterinary service for over 500 species of marine mammals and terrestrial mammals, including fish, birds, pandas, dolphins, pinnipeds, and other exotic animals in the Park. He/she will carry out preventative programs and perform clinical procedures, diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, and medicine/ surgery. He/ she will also conduct scientific research in areas which are applicable to improving the health and care of our animals. Requirements:

  • Registered Veterinarian in Hong Kong, or be eligible for registration with Hong Kong Vet Surgeon Board

Welfare Operations Manager


The successful candidate will assist the Welfare Operations team with the management of the day to day operation of the SPCA's animal welfare programmes, with particular responsibility for shelter management, animal care and the adoption programme. Support will also be provided for various other animal welfare programmes and activities undertaken by the SPCA.

Requirements

  • Degree Holder (preferably in related field) and / or a minimum of three years managerial experience in animal welfare organisations or other animal facilities.

We wish to advise that Dr Cedric Tutt, a Veterinary Dentistry Specialist, will be available for dental consultations on Sunday 15th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th October at Phoenix Animal Clinic, Wan Chai and Thursday 19th October at Victory Animal Hospital, Mong Kok.

He will be available for dental consultations and all dental procedures including root canals and oral surgeries including mandibulectomies and maxillectomies.

  • Graduated with BSc(Agric) in 1984 and undertook research in aromatic and fragrant plants.
  • Graduated with BVSc in 1992
  • Graduated MMedVet (Med) about 2000
  • Pursued veterinary dentistry training in the UK and Europe from 1997-2003
  • Participated in under graduate and post graduate training in the UK 1998-2003
  • Moved to Cape Town 2004 and referral hospital providing a dentistry and oral surgery service.
  • Admitted to the European Veterinary Dental College in 2007 (Dip EVDC)
  • Published numerous articles in the CPD journal UK Vet
  • Presented dentistry and oral surgery lectures at congresses in Europe, UK and South Africa.
  • Author of "Small Animal Dentistry - a manual of techniques. 2006 Blackwell Scientific
  • Editor of: BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Dentistry 2007 BSAVA Publications
  • Co-author of the chapter on veterinary dentistry in the Veterinary nursing Manual of the BSAVA
  • Member: Credentials Committee EVDC

Introduction to Veterinary Acupuncture Workshop
